This new Davis chest protector is a HUGE step forward. You get more comfort, far more protection and a much better fit! First, there’s a multi-break front to conform to your chest. There are four vertical breaks across the top and up to 10 breaks along your ribcage for a truly streamlined profile. Next, two horizontal breaks provide flexibility to allow you greater movement in and out of your stance, yet all panels “meet” so there are no gaps in the protection. The hard shell plastic panels are double the thickness of our earlier Davis-Wilson chest protector, and specially selected upper panels are even thicker where you need the most protection. We’ve added to the inside padding for still more safety but kept it light so your movement and comfort are unrestricted. The plastic shoulder cups adjust forward and back to let you customize the fit for maximum protection. A whole new strap system lets you adjust the truevest back panel so the protector fits snug to the base of your throat. The result is a chest protector you’re going to want for this season and years to come.

Our true-vest design has proven its value. Umpires know when this protector is adjusted it does not slide down pitch after pitch. That feature alone means a huge improvement in comfort!   You can even adjust the plastic shoulder cups for the fit you really need. Move them slightly forward for better frontal protection if you use a box or the Gerry Davis plate stance. Move them slightly higher for better protection at the top of your shoulder if you are a scissors umpire.			Now we’ve improved on our own truevest design. We’ve added adjustable shoulder straps so you can shorten or lengthen the protector for an even better fit. This means you can size the DaviShield so it rides snug to the base of your throat.   In addition, we’ve improved the soft padding near the front-center throat area. It’s a comfortable, subtle improvement that provides a modest supplement to your mask frame and throat guard for just a little more protection in this very vulnerable area.
