You can choose the traditional format with the “Union” (field
of stars) at top left. It is appropriate for wear on most parts of
your uniform. Or, select the “reverse” format with the Union to the
right. This format is appropriate for wear primarily on the right
uniform sleeve, so the Union “leads” the flag as the person
wearing the uniform moves forward.
