We understand that many umpires are capable of numbering their own uniforms, so loose numbers are readily available. We carry two number styles and two sizes.

VARSITY style. By far the most popular (see #4 in the diagram). A 4” Varsity foreground number is actually 3.75” tall. 4” Varsity is a bold look, with numbers prominent. 3” Varsity (see #3 in the diagram) is more understated, but is becoming popular. A 3” Varsity foreground number is actually 3” tall.

Varsity colors include white, red, navy and black; available as one-, two- or three-part numbers and in any pattern. Most popular: 2-part red on white (for navy shirts and jackets) or 3-part white-black-white (for black shirts and jackets).

BLITZ style. A slightly more narrow number, Blitz numbers (see #2 in the diagram) are shorter. A 4” Blitz foreground number is actually 3.5” tall. Blitz numbers are 3-part, either white-black-white (for black shirts, jackets) or black-white-black (for white or cream shirts).

It is impossible for our customer service staff to remember the numbering preferences of every umpiring organization. Please know the style, color and size number before you place your order.

RECOMMENDED STYLES. Although certainly not universal, our experience with customers around the country tells us the following number style choices are by far the most common.

Shirts:
Navy shirt: 4” red on white
Powder shirt: 4” navy on white
Black shirt: 3” white-black-white
Cream shirt: 3” black-white-black
MLB shirt: 3” black-white-black
White shirt: 4” navy on red
Red shirt: 4” navy on white

Jackets:
Navy/powder: 3” white-navy-white
Navy/red: 4” red on white
Black/white: 3” white-black-white
Replica: 4” red on white
Pro style: 4” red on white
Navy plate coat: 4” red on white
Black plate coat: 3” white-black-white
