 These products are not ice packs. Instead they use an exclusive, patented product: HTF Exotherm.  Preparation. RiteTemp products “charge” quickly in a refrigerator, freezer, or ice chest. In fact, our “Endurance” products charge automatically at room temperatures under 78 degrees! For the fastest recharge time wrap the product in a water-tight plastic bag and submerge it in ice water. Submerging the product itself in ice water does not damage it, but you’ll be more comfortable if it is not dripping wet. You’ll know the product is fully charged when the chemical turns white and becomes solid. When the charge is exhausted the chemical is a clear liquid. As long as there is some white left in the individual cells the cooling effect continues and you are managing the heat.
Use. You can hold these products directly against your skin without fear of injury, but we recommend you wear a light T-shirt or shorts under each product. There’s no need to worry about the traditional ice pack “20 minutes on, 20 minutes off” routine because RiteTemp products are not “ice cold.” Instead, they are cool or slightly cold against your skin. In fact, they are so comfortable you might not realize how effective they are. But in a short while, 10 or 20 minutes, you’ll realize you are comfortable while others around you are feeling hot and sweaty. Care. RiteTemp products are exceptionally durable. Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth after each use; use a mild soap as needed. Lay the product flat to recharge. Each product can be charged and recharged a virtually unlimited number of times.  |
